Jason Bruges
Mirror, Mirror was commissioned by the V&A in partnership with SAP for the Decode exhibition.
Mirror, Mirror explores the concept of narcissism and the individual’s relationship with space and others. The playful nature of the work encourages you to explore the interactivity and consider the interconnected relationships.
The white dot matrix digital panels seem to float on the pond, awakening as visitors come into view. Cameras mounted within the LED dot matrices capture activity in the garden and simultaneously reflect this back to the viewer; the animated images are then mirrored once again in the surface of the water, creating multiple reflections.
A limited edition of 25 ‘Infinity Wall’ pieces, ranging from 1.6 – 8m in length, was available on a built-to-order basis.
Infinity Wall was then taken to the Bluebird, formerly Conran Restaurant, on Kings Road as part of a light exhibition called Shine.
Comissioned by Five to design an interactive artwork, Jason Bruges Studio created The Hero Room Art Piece in collaboration with BuckleyGrayYeoman Architects, made from panels of interactive LEDS embedded in the honeycomb room lining. The lighting artwork responds to a choice of feeds such as Five live feed, activity within the room and external environment.
Simon Heijdens’ work investigates the relationship between nature and new technologies. He studied experimental film in Berlin, then product and media design at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands in 2002. He has exhibited extensively, including at the Design Museum, London, the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, and the Cheongju Biennale, Korea. His work is represented in the permanent collection of MoMA, New York. The Dutch design group Droog selected Moving Wallpaper, one of Heijden’s graduation projects, for its permanent collection.
Johnny's Session Rethink
Today we had a run through of our ideas with Johnny. However throughout everyone's presentations it was made clear that for this project we didn't have to actually have to create an interactive piece but rather the idea of it and demonstrate how it could work.
With this new info i wanted to completely restart this idea as i felt creating this video for the twilight section was too restrictive and wouldn't allow me to make interactive for the public. However coming up with interactive piece is much more exciting and allows me to think out of the box much more.
Johnny showed us this website called Decode which was very inspiration into ways i could use interactive media to allow the audience to participate with the design.
Decode Exhibition
A surface covered with black sand turns into a pool full of life when people grab and remove a handful of sand away. In this micro-world, virtual creatures are born, live and perish. They recognize their spatial boundaries and obstacles of living and respond to peoples’ touch in various ways.
A real-time computer vision engine has been developed to interpret the physical status of diverse materials of the installation. The program populates creatures with various characteristics and controls their behaviors in real-time. A swarm intelligence has been implemented to simulate the flocking behaviors of the creatures and their life-like motions.
The Oasis is not a device invented for people to ‘use’. It’s a playful space where people feel nature, find life forms, interact with and create virtual worlds. It elicits peoples’ basic instincts to touch natural materials.

time lapse
using hundreds of photograph the video show the construction of a building, i think its fascinating seeing something be created right in front of your very eyes, it keeps you watching, wanting to find out the end result.
Guinness Advert
This advert shows the evolution of man backwards at breakneck speed, to identify the passage of time the creators have deconstructed things, like buildings and cities. its a very clever advert and the music really compliments it well.
